Tea Time, Me Time

Everyday, from the moment I wake, I look forward to 3pm.

By 3, my chores are done, the kids have hopefully learned a thing or two, we've ran our errands and played outside-- and I'm flippin exhausted.

In Australia and England, they refer to 3 o clock as "Tea Time" whether they drink tea, or coffee, or what the heck ever.  It's like a THING there, and I think it should be a thing everywhere.

It's such a refreshing hour for me.  It's different than any other break I take during the day.  It both unwinds and grounds me, all at once.

I try to always have a special coffee.  Special basically means that I top it with a bit of cool whip, and sprinkle cocoa and cinnamon on the top.  It looks pretty, and tastes special and is always successful in boosting my spirits.

Every day, my tea time, is a long moment, to pull myself together.  To re-form the plan.  What went well and what didn't....how I wish I would have responded vs how I did respond. What I want for the night ahead....if anything is bothering me... I write about it. I also do a lot of research during my little tea hour.

As many of you know, I homeschool my kids... so they are almost always at home, with me.  Quiet time is rare around here.

But 3pm  is unwind time, for all of us, and they have grown to enjoy it just as much as I do.

While I tap away at the keyboard, sorting out the madness swirling in my mind, and sipping special coffees, they have hot chocolate or shake shake (chocolate/strawberry milk),  a special snack and are given time to play on their tablets.

WIN.

Alone time is important.

We need it.  or at least I do.

I need that hour.

Having a nice coffee, while doing tasks I enjoy, that help me sort myself out...  has become habit.  A very comforting, good for the soul repetition that anyone can benefit from.

What about you?  How do you like to unwind during the busy day?

Let me know in the comments :)

Cheers

That Time My 9 Year Old Gave Me The Bird

An old Cherokee Indian, teaching his grandson about life...“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.  “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”   He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.  The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”   The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” A few months ago, I told my son (9) to go take out the trash. He didn't do it. In fact, almost every time I asked him to do it, he would "forget." When I found him outside, I said: "Hey, I told you to take out the trash." He got a bad attitude. Rolle...

Hey...Let's Catch Up

Hey guys.... I know I've been somewhat absent lately, and so, I want to take some time to catch up! Before I get into it all though, I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog... When I first started Crazies & Daisies, I did it as a hobby and for an outlet... I never saw it going anywhere and put off starting it for years because of the fear of  judgement... and failure...and more judgement  Once it took off though, I started letting you guys in more and more, and you kept on reading. Y'all are my inspiration, and my motivation to keep writing.  So Thank You! Now for the catching up... this is gonna be deep... I don't do shallow, I suck at sugar coating stuff, and most of all, I feel it is almost a calling of mine-- to be real with people. To let them in on my messy, unfiltered, unedited life. So here goes... Life has been full of highs and lows for the past several months. One big c...
