"TO BE OR NOT TO BE?"

I love a good quote.  Not necessarily because of who said it, but because of how they said it and the way it inspires and moves me. The way I can relate and the thought it provokes in my mind.
In life, we all need, inspiration to be.

#1. "Be who you want to see in the world."  As cheesy as it may be, it hits home with me and I repeat this quote to myself often.  Especially when things aren't going my way and I feel the need to make someone else feel the way they've made me feel.  It's a reminder to not do that, but quite the opposite instead.

#2. "In the long run, you make your own luck; good, bad, or indifferent." -Loretta Lynn
This is my all time favorite quote said by one of my favorite singers.  It's a classic quote, spoken by a classy lady.  How true is this?  Another reminder to take responsibility for myself and my fate in every situation.

#3. She flies by her own wings."  This is a quote that I discovered a few years back when I was going through a tough time.  It goes with the others in the sense that the message is clear... you are responsible for YOU, and when you learn to count on yourself, and to stop blaming others, you learn to fly.

#4. "I am climbing a difficult road: but the glory gives me strength" -Propertius  The glory.  The glory gives me strength.  This quote inspires me greatly.  When I'm working out.  When I'm not on the right track with my work. When my kids are driving me crazy and I want to strangle my husband--
when I'm fed up and wonder why the hell I'm even here,
the difficulty I know I'm gonna conquer gives me glory, and a sense of pride like "I got this" and that gives me strength.

#5.  "Resolve to be thyself; and know that he who finds himself, loses his misery. -Matthew Arnold
It took me a long time to find myself and then even longer to accept and love myself.  I didn't hate me or anything, I just had never really taken the time to embrace myself.  This quote is a reminder that if we deny who we are, for what ever reason, we are causing a war within...be true to you.

#6. " There are enterprises in which a careful disorderliness is the true method. - Herman Melville

Careful
disorderliness.
Describes us perfectly! And it works for us. I've tried schedules and routines, but the chaos method
is what we thrive on. :)
#7. " It matters not what you are thought to be, but what you are.  -Publilius Syrus
In life, there are people who think they know things about you, who will judge you and find fault in you.  That's just how life is. But at the end of the day, only you know who and what you are.  Hopefully, in remembering that, you either find peace or the strength to change.

#8. "Seize the day, put no trust in the morrow" -Horace
If we're going to live each day anywhere close to the fullest, we have to be thankful to be alive-- every.single.moment.  Just because you're having a bad day, doesn't mean you aren't grateful to be here... Embrace failure and shortcomings.

#9. "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.  The most certain way to succeed is to try just one more time. -Thomas Edison
Amen to that!  I tend to be someone who gives up on big dreams fairly easy.  But I've learned that perseverance is the only way to go.  If you fail, so what.  Just keep trying....one more time, at a time.

#10. "In living, pain and hard lessons are often the beginning of what will blossom into the most beautiful seasons of your life, reminding you that you are indeed, alive." -Laurel Israel
Hard lessons don't come easy, but they almost always teach you something. Every season has a purpose, and more often than not, the ones you perceive as the worst, will teach you the most.

That Time My 9 Year Old Gave Me The Bird

An old Cherokee Indian, teaching his grandson about life...“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.  “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”   He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.  The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”   The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” A few months ago, I told my son (9) to go take out the trash. He didn't do it. In fact, almost every time I asked him to do it, he would "forget." When I found him outside, I said: "Hey, I told you to take out the trash." He got a bad attitude. Rolle...

Hey...Let's Catch Up

Hey guys.... I know I've been somewhat absent lately, and so, I want to take some time to catch up! Before I get into it all though, I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog... When I first started Crazies & Daisies, I did it as a hobby and for an outlet... I never saw it going anywhere and put off starting it for years because of the fear of  judgement... and failure...and more judgement  Once it took off though, I started letting you guys in more and more, and you kept on reading. Y'all are my inspiration, and my motivation to keep writing.  So Thank You! Now for the catching up... this is gonna be deep... I don't do shallow, I suck at sugar coating stuff, and most of all, I feel it is almost a calling of mine-- to be real with people. To let them in on my messy, unfiltered, unedited life. So here goes... Life has been full of highs and lows for the past several months. One big c...
