Coffee

I love coffee.
It's so delicious.

When I  was in elementary school, sometimes we would have this substitute that I loved.  She was about 5'3, probably in her late forties, with graying brown hair-- and she always smelled like coffee and cigarettes.  She dressed really cool too, like a dignified, classy hippie.  I can't recall her name now, but her sweet face and her scent have never left my memory.    I thought she was super cool, and I totally wanted to be like her when I grew up....sipping on some coffee, in a cool hippie fab outfit.

I've loved coffee for a long time. I used to go to work with my dad a lot when I was a kid.  If my mom wasn't around...I could get by with having as much coffee as I wanted.  I liked it extra creamy and sugary back then-- so that's mostly all it tasted like--I would stick a peppermint in the corner of my mouth while I sipped the steaming hot, sugary goodness, and as I sipped, my peppermint would melt.   I'd have cup after cup, mint after mint.

Those days have long passed, but it was a pleasure I never grew out of.  I still sip coffee with mints.

I read once that people who drink coffee live longer.  If that's true, I should be good to go, because I literally drink coffee morning, noon, and night.  Have a good day...celebrate with coffee! Have a bad day, definitely need some coffee.  Feeling unmotivated, have a cup of coffee! Coffee is always good-- can I get an Amen!

Did you know that coffee is the second most traded commodity next to oil?  It's a big deal y'all!
Around 2.2 BILLION cups of coffee are consumed per day around the world.  Coffee became popular in America around the time of the Boston Tea Party, and  the Civil War also helped to boost its popularity, as soldiers relied on it for the energy....good ole caffeine.
As time has passed, coffee has stood the test of time, becoming more and more popular and evolving into specialty blends...just think of everything you can get at Starbucks these days!

It's just soooo delish.  I like mine with a splash of creamer.  My favs are Almond Joy, Italian Sweet Cream, Mocha, and York Peppermint Patty.  You know, you can make a most tasty iced coffee simply by filling a cup with ice, pouring the coffee over it, then adding mocha creamer...it's so yum!

So how do you like your cup of joe?  Do you choose de-caf or regular?  Sugar or no sugar, one shot of espresso or three, cream or black?
Do you even choose the coffee or are you a chocolate milk sort of person?  My mom is a chocolate milk gal.  She doesn't even like the smell of coffee.  She has milk instead.  I wonder if the milk drinkers look forward to their milk like us coffee drinkers look forward to coffee?

Furthermore, I wonder how anyone doesn't LOVE coffee.

Coffee is good.  Tastes good, makes ya feel good, is good.

Happy coffee drinking ya'll.  :)

That Time My 9 Year Old Gave Me The Bird

An old Cherokee Indian, teaching his grandson about life...“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.  “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”   He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.  The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”   The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” A few months ago, I told my son (9) to go take out the trash. He didn't do it. In fact, almost every time I asked him to do it, he would "forget." When I found him outside, I said: "Hey, I told you to take out the trash." He got a bad attitude. Rolle...

Hey...Let's Catch Up

Hey guys.... I know I've been somewhat absent lately, and so, I want to take some time to catch up! Before I get into it all though, I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog... When I first started Crazies & Daisies, I did it as a hobby and for an outlet... I never saw it going anywhere and put off starting it for years because of the fear of  judgement... and failure...and more judgement  Once it took off though, I started letting you guys in more and more, and you kept on reading. Y'all are my inspiration, and my motivation to keep writing.  So Thank You! Now for the catching up... this is gonna be deep... I don't do shallow, I suck at sugar coating stuff, and most of all, I feel it is almost a calling of mine-- to be real with people. To let them in on my messy, unfiltered, unedited life. So here goes... Life has been full of highs and lows for the past several months. One big c...
