Care for a mom haircut? Mommy Mess Up #45465

So.

So my sweet little middle, Li Li, wanted me to cut her bangs.

Well, let me rephrase that.  She wanted me to take her to have her bangs cut...by a professional.

But who wants to pay $10 for a bang trim when Mom can do it.  I mean, lets be real here...I'm qualified.  I've been cutting bangs for like 15 years if you count my own!

I kept putting it off, and she kept nagging at me about it.  Making such a HUGE whiney deal about it.  One afternoon, when I was in a particularly crappy mood, I said "FINE! I'll do it now, even though I have a million other things to do, I'll stop and cut your bangs!" I went on...being ugly mommy as I gathered the kitchen scissors and a towel.

I grabbed up her bangs, gave them a squirt or two...and while griping and lecturing my poor daughter, I cut them.

OFF.

I don't know what happened.  I was griping, she turned her head to see what was happening on the TV and I cut across and when I let go...she had sideways, lack of bangs.... they were like at the top of her forehead ya'll, maybe an inch long.  :(

Oh my it was bad.

I cried, she cried.

Did I mention this was three days before her 9th birthday.  Poor kid.

I immediately shut up.  I said I was soooo soorrrry!!! But I blamed it on her moving.  She was mad.  Really mad.  And it didn't help that big sis was laughing hysterically with big eyes and her hand covering her mouth.
 Fabric headbands for months ya'll

For three months, she had to wear the thick fabric headbands...ya know, these.  --------->

Thank God they hid the number I did on them.  I told her to lie.

If ANYONE asked what happened to her hair, she was to say her little sister did it.

Thank Goodness they have grown back somewhat fast.  It's been four months and they're now finally back to a pretty much normal, few inches above her brows length.
After 4 months of growth...I literally cut them OFF
The moral of the story is this.... Don't be a mean mom.  Don't cut your kid's hair when you're in a bad mood.   It will bite you in the a**.

Blessings!

That Time My 9 Year Old Gave Me The Bird

An old Cherokee Indian, teaching his grandson about life...“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.  “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”   He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.  The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”   The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.” A few months ago, I told my son (9) to go take out the trash. He didn't do it. In fact, almost every time I asked him to do it, he would "forget." When I found him outside, I said: "Hey, I told you to take out the trash." He got a bad attitude. Rolle...

Hey...Let's Catch Up

Hey guys.... I know I've been somewhat absent lately, and so, I want to take some time to catch up! Before I get into it all though, I want to say thank you to everyone who reads my blog... When I first started Crazies & Daisies, I did it as a hobby and for an outlet... I never saw it going anywhere and put off starting it for years because of the fear of  judgement... and failure...and more judgement  Once it took off though, I started letting you guys in more and more, and you kept on reading. Y'all are my inspiration, and my motivation to keep writing.  So Thank You! Now for the catching up... this is gonna be deep... I don't do shallow, I suck at sugar coating stuff, and most of all, I feel it is almost a calling of mine-- to be real with people. To let them in on my messy, unfiltered, unedited life. So here goes... Life has been full of highs and lows for the past several months. One big c...
